Dane stumbled through the dark woods with a bottle of vodka in his hands. He'd nicked it from the rowdy party that raged just outside the treeline in some wealthy person's backyard. He could still hear the reverberating beats drifting through the trees, along with the occasional too-high, too-pitchy laugh from one of the more annoying attendees. He'd hopped into an UberPool on its way to the party, eager to stuff himself in with the carful of pretty, already half-drunk women as they left the corn maze.
The corn maze he'd been forcibly removed from. Dane frowned, lifting the vodka bottle to his lips and almost falling forward as his toe kicked into a gnarled tree root. They'd finally escorted him out after too many complaints but, really, his fun had been remarkably and graciously tame. His flock of summoned ravens had mostly just hovered and perched, cawing out to those people worming their way through the labyrinth. Once or twice, when someone didn't seem fearful enough, they had mounted an attack. But even then it was just grazed skin and thin trails of blood; restraint horribly evident on Dane's part. Okay, so at one point, shortly before the end, he had tackled someone. Held a knife to their throat and maybe let it kiss just a little too hard — just enough to draw a single bead of blood. But it wasn't like he'd straight up murdered anyone. Or set a pack of dogs biting at heels. Really, they'd kicked him out unjustly. And because of that, he'd found it difficult to enjoy the party — had stolen the liquor and hopped the fence to disappear into the trees instead.
Movement stopped Dane's aimless trek in its tracks and cut his brooding short. He froze, eyes flitting to where he'd seen a shadow dart through the trees. A very large — too large — wolf plodded quickly through the underbrush, his dark fur bristling and shining with the bits of moonlight that managed to cut through the thinning leaves above them. The creature paused and lifted his head, nose trembling as he tested the air, and Dane felt his palm prickle with anticipation, preparing to summon a beast to match the creature's size. Would he smell him? Surely he would.
The wolf glanced around but, after a moment, just huffed a dismissive snort. And then, with the sound of snapping, reshaping bones, the wolf transformed into a human, interestingly fully clothed. A shapeshifter! Or a werewolf? Dane ducked behind a massive tree trunk, eyes lighting with excitement as his heart thrummed in his chest. Shapeshifters were at the top of his list of favorite Gifted to kill. At least the talented ones who could transform into many different creatures. They always had a way of keeping him on his toes and testing his skills; forcing him to switch summons until he found one they couldn't match by transforming themselves into something quicker or stronger.
Dane peeked around the trunk as the now-human made his way to the treeline, where he began to pace fretfully back and forth, his movements almost wolf-like even as he stood on two feet. Dude was sketchy as shit. Dane dropped into a crouch and stealthed forward, settling atop a small crest between two trees where he had a clear view of the freaky man. He took a measured pull from his bottle as he watched the scene hungrily, brow lifting as the other man straightened, his attention caught on a figure approaching from the direction of the party. Had wolf man lured someone into the woods? Perhaps he'd charmed a young, pretty partygoer into meeting him later at the edge of the trees, promising her kisses and sweet whispers. Did they know what he was? Would it be kisses exchanged or something more... snapping jaws and tearing teeth? Was the approaching partygoer meant to be a snack or a snack? Judging by dude's twitchy behavior, Dane couldn't decide. He dipped lower into his concealment, eyes trained on Wolfman as the other party finally reached him, straining his ears to try and hear what might be exchanged.

OOC: Open to anyone! Feel free to be the person meeting up with Wolfman, either knowing who he is or having no idea. Or a partygoer who tries to talk their friend OUT of meeting that hot stranger who wanted to meet at the edge of the woods? Follows behind to make sure they're alright? Or just be in the woods, or WHATEVER YOU WANT! ♩ ♪ ♫ ♬
