She scowled, but reigned her facial expression in almost immediately. Her father was extremely precious to her, and his comment had gotten to her. Not that she would ever allow him the pleasure of knowing it. She examined him as she walked along side, doing her best to keep pace.
"Hmmm, would said anything about friends?" Mayv had other ideas - she had heard stories of Dane's rebellion, mischief, and disobedience. She was hoping that at the very least, she would be able to help him cause some trouble. She took a short glance over her shoulder - the two body guards and Fury were just far enough behind to grant them some privacy, but close enough to move in if they had to.
"I was thinking more along the lines of partners - for the day, at least. Perhaps causing some chaos together? I'm sure you have something to hunt down, " she paused, a knowing smirk across her face, "besides myself, I mean."
She considered that if they held this much disdain for each other, it could be possible they could either have the best working relationship, or one that ended in death for one of them. Either way, she knew it would be an interesting and thrilling time. The most evil smile she could muster spread across her face, and she skipped in front of the man, stopping both of their steps. "What do you say? Shall we make some wreckage?" TAG: Dane Wayland • NOTES: lol that's ok they can continue to bicker, mayv is like he's annoyed this is fun xd

look at you, just havin' a ball making all of the thin cards fall Still, Mayvis wouldn't allow herself to be waved off. Dane rolled his eyes and shoved his hands in his pockets as he continued at an unwavering pace, no longer feeling particularly threatened but more nagged now. As if she were a little sibling that refused to be shrugged off or left at home while their brother snuck off with his cooler, older friends. Tugging on his sleeve, begging to be included in their play. In all honesty, he'd much rather have a fight. She skipped in front of him, forcing him to stop, and Dane blew out an exasperated breath; casting a quick glance at the big, burly men behind him. He flashed his teeth in a fleeting, insincere smile, wondering if she drove them up a wall as much as she was currently driving him. Maybe they were itching for a fight, too. If just to make their shifts go by faster. Maybe he'd be doing everyone a favor if he just bit the bullet and threw the first blow. "Like I said," Dane began flippantly, turning his attention back to her, still careful to look beyond her; not daring to meet her eyes in case she flipped a switch and decided he was being too mean. Like the bratty little sister running off to their parents when she finally got her feelings hurt. "I've got things to do. Flowers to pick up. Breakfast to be had. This morning doesn't work for me, I don't think I can pencil you in." He shifted his weight more onto one leg, tucking his lips thoughtfully. "But. Tell you what. We could have some fun. I can pick us up an assignment and we can rendezvous tonight." He smiled again, wide and mockingly cheerful, teeth kept safely behind tight lips. "You can tuck your bobcat into his little kitty bed and leave your dogs at home, too. Just the two of us. A date. What do you think?"@mayvis ♩ ♪ ♫ ♬Give me a nudge for any changes! A smile split across her face - dripping in thrill, with a touch of venom. Hunting was her favorite thing to do, and if she could make a competition of it - well, that was double the fun in her eyes. She raised an eyebrow and cocked her head to the side, "Hmm, I'll agree to come alone as long as you don't kill me. I'm excited to have a bit of fun, but I heard you can be a nasty little thing too - murdering off your partners," she paused, "then again, I'm accusable to do the same." She endorsed herself with a wicked laugh. "A truce it is - the only killing and maiming to be done will be that of our target. We can make a game of it - first one to kill their victim wins?"
She often wondered why her brain thought this way. She wasn't sure if it had always been tucked away in her subconscious, or if it had truly come about when Magnus was killed. Part of her sometimes enjoyed thinking she wasn't always so vile, but her heart told her otherwise. Mayvis the wicked witch.

look at you, just havin' a ball making all of the thin cards fall Mayvis agreed, a cruel smile stretching across her face as she tipped her head. When she voiced the added stipulation of 'playing nice' with one another and then suggested making a game of it, Dane's smile widened to match hers. Sickly sweet once more, as it had been when he'd first run into her, but sharper now than when he'd been pretending nice. "Sure." He couldn't keep the amusement from leaking into his voice; tone edged with the suggestion of a restrained chuckle. "I, Dane Wayland, promise not to kill you." His brow jumped as he stepped emphatically on the assurance and lifted a hand to lay sarcastically over his breast. If Mayvis knew enough about him to know partnering up with him wasn't wise, then she could likely surmise that his word meant jack shit as well. "What's your 'cool-kid' name, anyway? Snake?" He laughed, short and snide, as he fished his phone from his pocket, unlocked it, and held it out to her so she could enter her contact information. "Adder? Viper? Serpent?" It probably wasn't Copperhead. He already knew a Copperhead and the man was a joke. Probably dead by now. "Slithery, venomous beast?""When and where shall we meet, Mayv? Lady's choice. And what kinda date will this be? I need to know how to dress. Will it be a first date? Simple and easy with no expectations? Or can we skip right to date three and get bold and frisky? I'll pick our targets accordingly."@mayvis ♩ ♪ ♫ ♬No worries at all, take all the time you need! <3 [googlefont=Roboto Slab]

She grabbed his phone, smoothly and swiftly. She entered five letters, and her phone number: Mamba. Every member of the guild had a unique code name, most of them matching their tattoo. For instance, hers matched the black, scaly thing that wrapped from her wrist up onto her arm. "Not quite, but close." She imagined though, that Dane's would be something like 'bastard' - he was plenty known as a faulty experiment around the guild, usually straying from his orders.
She smirked - "Oh lucky - you won't kill me, just beat me off my ass - if you can, that is." She was cocky, but looking him up and down, Mayvis knew he would probably have her beat off of sheer strength. He wasn't tiny to begin with, let alone his muscular build. "And we can jump straight into it - I'm a serious kind of girl. We can meet at Pat's and go from there - if you know where that is? Maybe venture into a few sketchy alley ways, or even the woods - I like to keep it spontaneous, more interesting that way."

look at you, just havin' a ball making all of the thin cards fall Dane kept the sticky, insincere smile plastered across his face as he took his phone back and glanced at the name. Mamba. He wondered if his father chose the alias or if she'd requested it. He quirked a brow as she made a comment that was very much a cocky challenge and tilted his head. "Don't tempt me or I might just try," he warned in a quiet, lilting warble, voice edged (very thinly) with amusement. With a nod, he slipped his phone in his jeans and looked up at her, setting his jaw. "Pat's it is. I'll shoot you a message later once I've chosen our targets."He blinked at her thoughtfully. Considered what kind of marks he should choose. Maybe he'd make it interesting. Cherry-pick some less-than-savory Gifted folks who frequented seedy places like low-end strip-clubs. Try to make her squirm. See what she'd be willing to do and promise to lure them from the establishment and into their hands. Or maybe someone particularly dangerous? Just to see if she could keep pace and to discover how she'd act if she had to rely on him in any capacity. Or maybe some innocent, innocuous run-of-the-mill targets? Just to sniff out any existing softness in her if there was any. He didn't know her. Didn't know what was too much. What would be a task or what would be insultingly boring. It'd be interesting to find out. Or he could decide not to bother at all. Just... not message her and see what (if anything) came of it. He'd decide later. "Can I go now?" He asked petulantly, face pinched with exaggerated pleading as he stepped around her, hoping she was finally sated and would let him go unharassed. Once past her, he shook his head and let the expression fall away. "Oh, and uh," Dane swiveled on his heel, pocketing his hands in his jacket once more as he turned back to her. "Get some sleep." He leaned the slightest bit forward, rocking his weight on the balls of his feet as one corner of his mouth tugged awry and he narrowed his eyes. "I intend to keep you up all night." He laughed, turning away again and stepping down the alley, planning to circle around the block back to the flowershop. The florist, whom he'd hurried and hounded for the better half of an hour, was probably now very vexed by his disappearance. Without looking back at her, he threw a hand in the air with a still wave. "Ciao, Mamba." @mayvis ♩ ♪ ♫ ♬I think we can end here unless you want to tie it up with a Mayvis post or keep it going. Shall we do a follow-up thread for them hunting together?
