"Thank you for your help with the little girl," the brunette supplied although her tone was not entirely grateful.
Why did she stare so much? Josuette forced her eyes away in order to ignore the way this stranger looked when she...sulked. It was cute...
"It was just my job," she replied, a sigh leaving her. Holly was much better at serving customers, she loved to talk and waste time. Josuette moved slightly, contemplating leaving before ultimately turning to approach the register. "$123.00 is your total...you can," she started but trailed off, she didn't usually give a sale's pitch. But something...caught her eye in the store and a feeling surged within her.

“It was just my job.” Josuette answered with a short sigh, showing no further interest in engaging with her. Instead, she guided her out of the dressing room and toward the checkout area. After scanning the sweater and jeans, she provided her the total. Brenna’s mood hadn’t improved, but she continuously made an effort to push her feelings aside. She didn’t need them. “You can…,” The sales associate trailed off as she glanced toward a nearby rack of shirts, where Brenna could see a promotional campaign for signing up with a new membership. “You can get fifteen percent off and a free top if you sign up for a membership card...”An urge to be petty surged within Brenna, but she quickly suppressed the impulse. Although, she did hesitate in answering as she contemplated whether or not she should ever return. Deep down, a part of her held the answer she didn’t want to acknowledge. “Alright…,” She agreed, but deliberately conveyed her reluctance. @josh ༺ WEEKEND - SUMMER - AFTERNOON - OUTFIT - HAIR ༻ooc: brenna is so sour! xD [googlefont=Poppins]

The blonde abruptly handed Brenna a business card for the Daily Thread and instructed her to write her name and number on the back. Brenna grew both surprised and suspicious at the unusual request. It wasn’t customary for a customer to be asked to write down their membership details onto the back of a business card. Had she come off as too reluctant? Was this woman t-trying to swindle her? Brenna hesitated, holding the pen between her fingers. She still hadn’t written her information down by the time Josuette returned to the counter, placing a folded green blouse before her. “This is the only available piece.” Josuette informed her, causing Brenna to glance skeptically at the seemingly well-stocked rack of clothes before turning her puzzled and suspicious gaze back to her. It wasn't that she disliked the green blouse, it was quite pretty, but it was the principal of the whole thing that came off as odd to her. Holly, the other woman from before, suddenly joined them at the counter with her hands on her hips. “Did either of you see a cell phone in the changing room?” She asked, as it turned out that the little girl’s mother had reported a missing phone, which the little girl had been playing with in the changing room. “I didn’t.” Brenna answered with a shake of her head, her eyes instinctively shifting toward Josuette. @josh ༺ WEEKEND - SUMMER - AFTERNOON - OUTFIT - HAIR ༻ooc: holly is back and in search of the mom's cell phone. c:< [googlefont=Poppins]

"'Mama' was at security already, though she seemed more concerned about her missing phone than her child," she snorted, lifting up her own phone to text someone.
"Anyways gotta go, work to do, cute tops by the way," she smiled at them both, clearly casual in her job and life as she departed from the area. Josuette watched her leave and then looked back to the customer. "Have you forgotten your name and number?" She asked with a sardonic tone and mundane expression.

Brenna listened to Holly’s explanation about the missing phone and the mother’s nonchalant attitude toward her missing child. It was surprising to hear, but it seemed to fit with Holly’s less-than-ideal attitude over the whole thing. Overall, the employees at this store weren’t exactly… ideal. “Anyways gotta go, work to do, cute tops by the way.” Holly offered a smile as she pointed out the clothes on the table. As she left, Brenna silently wondered if she was the assistant manager of the establishment. She was quite young, but she had a noticeably terrible work ethic. “Have you forgotten your name and number?” Josuette’s unamused and sarcastic remark quickly drew Brenna’s gaze. The flagrant rudeness of her statement and stoic expression caught her off guard, her gaze shifting down to the empty back of the card. However, she felt a surge of indignation at the rudeness. “It’s a little odd to have me write down my personal information on a business card.” Brenna retorted, her voice carrying defiance. She pushed the card back in Josuette’s direction. “Isn't there an application form or a more proper way to input the information into your system?” She gestured toward the desktop behind the counter, challenging Josuette’s unconventional approach. @josh ༺ WEEKEND - SUMMER - AFTERNOON - OUTFIT - HAIR ༻ooc: hahahahaha. xD [googlefont=Poppins]

Josuette’s gaze bore into Brenna with an intensity that caused a chill to tingle against the back of her neck. With her hands now hovering over the keyboard, ready to input the information, Josuette demanded, “Name.”Brenna’s temper ignited, causing heat to rise into her cheeks. The quickened thump of her heart was an all too telling sign of how frustrated she was, having to deal with this… this ridiculous woman! Rather than succumbing to her temper, Brenna stepped forward to place her hands firmly onto the desk. “I think perhaps a little more politeness is in order.” She stated firmly, her chin rising. Her jawline tensed and a realization suddenly dawned on her. She was attracted to this girl...that was why she had been acting so strange since they had met. Emerald eyes narrowed with scrutiny as she looked her over, from the cascading waves of long richly brown hair, to the way her clothes gracefully draped over her body.
It was a shock to her system and she was left speechless, eyes resting subconsciously on her chest. "Is the line moving?" A customer spoke from behind Brenna, and the woman was offering a smile, but her patience would wither soon.

Brenna’s forwardness appeared to take Josuette by surprise. However, her surprise soon gave way to a narrowed gaze as she regarded her with newfound scrutiny. Before Brenna could say anything further, a customer came to stand in line behind her, calling out to the cashier, inquiring about the wait time. A sense of embarrassment quickly washed over Brenna, reminding her of the public setting she was in, which swiftly doused her ire. “…Holly will help you.” Josuette stated coldly, her demeanor somehow becoming even more unfriendly. Without waiting for a response, she departed, leaving Brenna and the older woman behind. Disappointment and a sense of unhappiness settled into Brenna’s heart when she realized that Josuette had left entirely, with no intention to return. Instead, it was Holly who came forward to resume the transaction and help her set up the membership. Leaving the store with a bag in hand, Brenna felt torn between frustration and a feeling of being disregarded. However, her own mind quickly scolded her, reminding her that she wasn’t here to make friends. Well, she had never been in the business of making friends. It was completely absurd for her to suddenly develop an interest now, especially when it was the most inopportune time to do so! Later...Brenna couldn’t shake the thoughts of that infuriating young woman, Josuette, from her mind, and a whirlwind of emotions coiled around her heart. The encounter with the blond-haired, emerald eyed employee, who held such a resemblance to her wolf, replayed over in her mind. Josuette had remained aloof throughout most of their meeting, yet there were moments where she had shown a different side of herself. However, Brenna questioned herself, wondering why any of it even mattered. The relocation to Los Eurosia had been a result of her unexpected awakening! She was currently a wreck and held no control over her power! The most troubling aspect was her power’s ability to transform her into a man! Brenna’s emotions overwhelmed her, bringing tears to her eyes. It was a constant struggle to adjust and learn how to accept this aspect of her power, as it turned everything upside down. It was humiliating and horrifying, and wasn’t something she embraced at all. And to then have to life as that person? To attend school as that person? It was her father’s insistence that she attend University, forcing her into this situation. Even at the age of nineteen, she held so little freedom, and she feared that she never would. The weight of her family’s fortune and lineage loomed over her, always a constant reminder that if she pushed her father too far it would be pulled right from under her feet. As loathe as she was to be trapped within the will and power of another, she also understood the gravity of walking away from her family, knowing it would have inconceivable consequences. @josh [googlefont=Poppins]

But she couldn't see the enclosed room she occupied, just that female...brown hair, autumn eyes, ruby colored cheeks. Her heart felt tight with discomfort, but also a need...to get to know her. She sighed, closing her eyes and pressing two fingers against the bridge of her nose. She couldn't afford to waste time, she had school, work and a life she was hoping to build for herself.
Ultimately, harboring attraction to another female had shocked her, but the effect wasn't long lasting. Gender, she supposed didn't matter to her, instead it all came down to her circumstances. If she had a different life she would have pursued what she wanted with unrelenting force. Knowing that brought her peace.
She would have so easily made that girl hers in every way. Her gaze lulled with satisfaction and a smirk graced her lips as she departed from the storage room. Outside, the sleek shop nestled within Bay Park Square Mall remained lightly occupied with a few costumers. Holly spoke animatedly to one of them as she easily convinced them to purchase more. The clicking of keys filtered into the air, drawing Holly's attention briefly to her co-worker who searched the database.

As Brenna admired her reflection in the mirror, adjusting the bow at her collar, a soft smile and a trickle of warmth filled her at the green blouse that had been chosen for her. It was a modest and elegant piece, but she would have to find a lengthy skirt to match if she wanted to wear it beyond the privacy of her bedroom. For as long as she could remember, Brenna’s preference for modesty and covering up in public had been a constant in her life. The aspect of showcasing her feminine features had always unsettled her. Throughout the summer months, her wardrobe often became a topic of conversation among those who knew her, as her inclination to cover up, even when the weather called for lighter attire, became much more apparent. Brenna sat at the edge of her bed, drawing out her new Daily Thread membership card, examining it as she mulled over when she should return to the store. Did Josuette work during the week? The weekends? Was she a full time or part time employee? A soft frown settled onto her mouth as she realized it could take a few tries before she ran into her again. Maybe she could find some solace in getting to know her amidst the chaotic backdrop of her new life. Maybe she shouldn’t have felt as conflicted as she had. Maybe she should have felt more positively about it. As she tucked the card away, a soft sigh parted from her mouth. She wondered if she was making excuses for herself or if perhaps, she was being too hard on herself. @josh ༺ WEEKEND - SUMMER - AFTERNOON - OUTFIT - HAIR ༻ooc: she's so bold and confident! while brenna is just a bundle of insecurities.
