DARCY ELIZABETH VANCE
ABOUT
Darcy is a Trauma Surgeon in the ER, typically working nights, she’s also a member of the Guild; on call for whenever someone needs patching up and can’t be seen in an actual hospital. They make the call, she just shows up and does what they need without asking questions. She’s happily married with three kids, but due to her affiliation to the guild, she didn’t take her husband’s last name and she doesn’t wear a wedding ring. Trying to keep her personal life far away from her work with the Guild.
She’s also got a fondness for alcohol, but tries not to drink unless she’s in the comfort of her home or out with her husband. Darcy can come off a bit ‘friendly and flirty’ when she’s drinking. So she’s not someone you’ll run into at the local bar scenes (anymore), but more likely the beach, parks, events at the kids’ schools, hiking trails or grocery store. And of course; the hospital.
Darcy is typically very friendly, and in traditional ‘proud mom’ fashion; she’s quick to gush about her kids when given the opportunity to. She’s very committed to her husband(Ferris Felwinter ), and is sure to let people know that not wearing a ring doesn’t make her available. Even people at the hospital mostly assume she’s a single mom, most people surprised when she does mention having a husband.
She’s fluent in French and has a high pain threshold, she likes hiking and rock climbing, though doesn’t do the latter as often anymore. She’s got her Guild tattoo on her right inner forearm, it’s a wolf and moon phase.
PLATONIC
Darcy is Swiss born, but has lived in Los Eurosia almost her entire life. She’s fluent in French and enjoys spending time outdoors when she’s not working. Family is very important to her, so it’s not often that she will give her free time to other people, because she prefers enjoying that time with her kids and husband. But she definitely needs friends at work or mom friends at school events and park or beach days with the kids.
ANTAGONISTIC
While she’s not typically a violent person, she’s got a wicked temper when she’s emotionally invested or upset. Darcy is impulsive and blunt, which isn’t always considered a winning combination. She’s also not fond of the women who flirt with her husband.
ROMANTIC
Darcy is taken, happily married to Ferris Felwinter . But she doesn’t wear a wedding band, and they don’t have the same last name; so that can be a touch misleading and confusing to people.
PLOT HOOKS
- Darcy has a wicked temper when it comes to her family, I think it would be hilarious for her to end up in a physical altercation over either: A). Someone being overly flirtatious with her husband, or B). Someone choosing to comment on her teen pregnancy that resulted in her eldest daughter Ellis.
- Darcy doesn’t wear a wedding ring or share a last name with her husband, so it happens with her work in the hospital that she’s hit on by other staff members, patients or patient family members. And if they know her from the Guild, she doesn’t talk about her family to people there.
- Darcy is an alcoholic who avoids bars and drinking in public, namely because alcohol makes her rather friendly, I think it would be entertaining to have her get ahold of a drink she didn’t realize was spiked at some event, gathering or office party.
