Deacon and Misti

This one is a tough one because I don't know if its going to be platonic or antagonistic. Deacon could either get along with her or hate her stuckup guts. Either way I think it would be fun threads! For how they're going to meet, while Deacon definitely isn't a piano guy, he knows a thing or two on the guitar, he is also running a repair shop if you want to meet him at work. 

Deacon is careful to hide both his gifts and his "less than legal" activities with a biker gang. Its rather obvious he is a biker and he doesn't deny it, of course he won't admit to any wrongdoing or his gifts. Trouble is that you only need one good look at him to know he is up to no good and while his gifts are something that is easy to hide, sometimes he lets a few things slip like charging batteries with his power. Would be fun if we could play around her getting suspicious and him trying to cover his tracks. Maybe he thinks she might be a gifted or worse (gifted hunter) because he mistook her for a rumored gifter in a big misunderstanding?

Doesn't matter if its platonic of antagonistic. Deacon is used to dry responses and like his friends would put it, dealing with stuck up people is almost a guilty pleasure. He might hate someone for being stuck up or snobby but still will interact with them. If they happen to be friends he would probably drag her to enjoy a night out. Some flirting on his part may be involved.

We should throw them in a thread and see where it goes, like I said at the start of this ramble this could go either way.

Deacon and Noah

Noah could try to recruit him into Blackstorm, as of now Deacon doesn't care for the factions and just tries to watch out for hunters and anyone that might be tailing him. Although he is going to jump in if he sees a hunter attacking a gifted or something like that, he might not make allegiances to a cause but he is a firm believer in helping your fellow gifter because if you don't you might be next in the hunter's chopping block. We could start with a gifted hunter attacking either one of them. There is no better bonding time with Deacon than after a fight, then they could have been left to deal with a body but I imagine with Deacon's Geokinesis skill wouldn't be that hard, at least they won't need a shovel.

I know this is bare-bones but I think we can do a lot with this idea. Pull a few more threads with either one of them dragging the other into a difficult situation and having to deal with it. Noah trying to recruit him, having some debates about ideology, fighting for causes and whatnot, and Deacon would try to get him to kick back and relax. 

Given time if he trusts Noah enough, he might even help him in training his powers.

Hello hello <3 I like the idea of these two interacting. Does Deacon work on cars as well as bikes? Maybe one of Misti’s tyres needs replacing~ They might have a rough start; his appearance will make her wary of him and feel the need to supervise while he works so he doesn’t do anything sketchy to her car lol. But if he happens to have a guitar laying around and tells Misti he can play it, she’ll instantly be more friendly – whether he’ll forgive her for her previous behaviour is up to you!

If they get along she’ll probably do some investigation to make sure he’s not a criminal like she initially assumed. She’ll be very disappointed if she discovers it’s true, and she’ll hint to him that she knows and doesn’t approve but she wouldn’t snitch. She’d probably encourage him to pursue a career in music instead and try to convince him to tutor like she does.

Misti doesn’t know anything about gifted and is wilfully ignorant at this point so she would wave off any powers Deacon displays as a joke or prank. She’d be very, very confused if Deacon insinuated she was one lmao

I’d be happy to start a thread with Misti puncturing a tyre while she’s coincidentally close to Deacon’s workplace, if that works for you 😊 

Deacon & Noah 

This could be a fun duo! Noah is totally unopposed to crimes unless they’re against him, so he wouldn't bat an eyelid at any illegal activities Deacon is involved in and might even offer to be used as an alibi if Deacon ever gets caught.

Bonding over fighting sounds like a good start for them. I've run wild with the amount of threads I'm in atm so we might need to hold this one off >.< Or you could get it started and I'll answer in a few days or so?

Deacon and Misti

Yep! Works on both cars and bikes! He works in a legit repair shop (that was recently bought by the leader of his gang). I think it would be more fun if she didn't know he played the guitar at first, then we can go with your idea of her being wary of him doing something funky to her car. And maybe she notices he has a guitar lying around? If brought up he might even play it.

If he suspects she is gifted he likely won't bring it up until it goes on for long enough, he tries to hide his own gifts as best he can. But he might try to get her to display "her powers" and that might lead to some fun and confusing situations.

She is welcome to try to change him if she uncovers the truth, would make for pretty interesting plots. I'm not sure if Deacon is ever going to leave his badboy phase, but for now he has the mentality that he was born for this and its all he is good at.

You can start if you want to! Nothing else to add!

Same for Noah, if he evergets some flak or suspicion for his Blackstorm activities, he can always count on Deacon to provide an alibi or get him out of a sticky situation provided they're at least friendly.

Alright, so we've already got a couple threads going on (and I'm taking my sweet time with Roger, he's so stubborn), so if you want to wait to do something else, I'm totally fine with that. Or if this idea just doesn't jive with you at all, that's cool too, lol. But here it is.

Both these gals have Downtown Apartments. Is it possible they're in view of one another? Tawny's bedroom window faces the street. What if Moondweller's Cauldron is across the street? And Tawny is aware that that's where the black cats she usually sees along the rooftops originate from? If yes, then what if one of Eve's furkids gets hurt? Idk, shot with a BB gun or something, and Tawny comes across it. Either she can bring it to Eve right then and there, or she can return it to Eve after rushing it to the vet and getting them fixed up? Something along those lines?

Tawny's got a hobby-like interest in tarot cards and palm reading, so if she got to know Eve, she'd be all oohs and aahs. (*o*)

Yesss let’s go! Out of the cats, it’s likely either Cleo or Mischief would get hurt – Cleo because she has no fear of humans, Mischief because he’s a dumbass. I imagine Cleo would be very easy to help and is probably being dramatic and aiming to be cuddled rather than truly being hurt, whereas Mischief might actually be injured but unable to accept it so he rebels and makes helping him as difficult as possible.

And I’ve been studying tarot hard, I’ll be ready for any of Tawny’s questions >:] If you want Eve to do a reading for her, let me know what future you want her to have and I’ll put together the cards to match!

I'd like to think these two would get along. Cute, wholesome buds. If they were to become friends, he'd def be down for marathoning dramas, letting her know when it's safe to look again during the scary/gory parts lmao (he's a real one). Also I keep picturing Eve trying to read his thoughts/mind when he's spacing out and essentially getting cricket noises. No thoughts behind eyes.

But I'm looking at your plot hook, cottagecore realness. Gavyn's a strapping, helpful lad. He could definitely carry Eve back to civilization if she needed help.

But just imagine he like... gets impaled on something... rolls an ankle... breaks an arm... dislocates a shoulder or something like that. Poor, squeamish Eve would have a time with that, right? And he'd just insist that he's fine, it doesn't hurt, he's FINE, he can still carry her (just ignore that he's almost dropped her like twelve times now). I have a feeling once they clambered out of the woods, they'd just be stone-faced, dirty, looking like they'd just had a harrowing escape from murderers or something.

But anyway, just an idea lol. Feel free to say no if you're not interested in this himbo or if we've got too much going on already or if you have OTHER ideas. I also COMPLETELY forgot I was planning to throw Tawny at Eve as well woops. x3

ok - so maybe a brother/sister/love/hate type thing? i'm thinking possibly noah is the one that recruited/educated mattie on blackstorm, and maybe she attached to him like a lost puppy, but then she would also be annoyed of his selfishness she would def think he's powerhungry and probably try to make him see that always looking for an avenue to strengthen yourself does not always strengthen the team sort of thing? like try to make him have a conscious for stealing borrowing others gifts? if that makes any sense...xd but then also if she had no one else to follow/learn from she would be like "wait i have no one don't leave me show me your ways"

Oh ho ho, consider me intrigued >:] I always have a lot to say about Noah, so please forgive this long response and all the questions I have about Mattie lol. Feel free to ask me to clarify if anything I say doesn't make sense x3

He could definitely be the guy who recruited Mattie! If it's cool with you, I’d like a little more info on her siren powers so we can build their history together c: The main question I have (which would hugely affect their dynamic) is whether she feels the emotions of those around her and whether it's constant thing that she can't turn off? Because that’s the kind of ability I imagine Noah would automatically borrow when they cross paths (he has no choice; once an ability is used on him he has to take it for at least a couple of minutes). However, it would make him super uncomfy and existential because, well, I imagine his own emotions are usually kinda muted compared to other people’s and he'd be like 'yikes... y'all be FEELING feeling.' He’s not accustomed to having strong emotions or seeing other people as alive so he would probably give her gift back pretty quickly and try to block it out.

Anyway, back to the recruitment – it could be that he found her by chance; if she's constantly feeling the emotions of those around her then we could say he accidentally borrowed her gift by brushing past her in the street or something, and then he could have been all "hey, you! I’m gifted too, lemme ask all about your powers and tell you about my cool gang". Otherwise, it could be that Blackstorm heard rumours of a very persuasive doctor in town and purposefully sent Noah to recruit her.

As for the whole selfishness thing, Noah’s gift only allows temporary borrowing of other powers and they have to be used on him first, so usually he's not really harming anyone by doing it. He can't steal a gift forever atm, but maybe there could be a misunderstanding at Blackstorm's hideout where an NPC member is freaking out that Noah 'stole' their gift and Noah is like "dude chill I'm just playing with it, I'll give it back in a minute and you used it on me first lol so whose fault is it really?" And Mattie could come along and tell him to cut it out since the other person is clearly upset.

Whether her empathy gift is constant or not, it could basically become a stop button for Noah's gift; he can only hold one power at a time so if she walks past (or deliberately uses hers on him) while he's using something else, he'll automatically switch over to her gift despite not wanting to!

Noah wouldn't be happy if she tells him off for borrowing gifts as that would remind him of his family, but he'd probably tolerate it to some extent if the rest of the time she's following him around like a puppy x3 He's sort of an attention seeker so he'd enjoy feeling as though someone needed him in some way lmao

Also, maybe his aforementioned muted emotions could be a cause for concern for Mattie and prompt her to investigate, or else she might notice his emotions don't always match up to how he behaves, i.e. he sounds and acts like he cares about something but she can only feel indifference from him? Or there are times where she doesn't feel anything at all from him?

Finally, another question I have is how much can Mattie control other people? Can she simply influence their emotions and make them more agreeable to what she says or can she straight-up make them do what she wants? Either way, Noah would like that side of her powers very much and want to experiment with it a tonne! They could probably have some talks where she's like "it's not right to take away someone's free will" and he'd be all *puppy eyes* "but it's so funny, let's go tell that guy to pour his expensive coffee on the floor lmao". He'd constantly be trying to make her use that gift on him so he could borrow it for a while, or else he'd frequently encourage her to use it on other people to test the limits of what she can do. He'd be fascinated c:

okkk hurrrr weeee gooo lol: 

1) for mattie's empathy powers, I imagine she always feels the emotions in the room and who they're coming from, but from a lot of practice she has learned to sort of tune them down/out personally.  but for someone like noah with little to zero experience with it, if he borrowed it from her, he definitely would be like "omg all the feelingsssss" lol...if his are more muted/quiet she would def be intrigued, probs more in a way like "ooohhh how can i get you to feel some passion about anything" thus causing her to be more interested in following him around.... and for her siren abilities, i imagine it to put the person she uses it on into sort of a hypnotic state, so then she basically gets them to do as she says if that makes sense...so basically yes, she can have them do whatever she wants

2) the npc/picking on someone (maybe another new recruit after mattie already experience noah borrowing her gift) mattie would definitely be like "uh excuuuuuse me stop" and be like "you shouldn't just be 'borrowing' gifts for fun only if you have a good reason etc etc"

3) i think the idea of him sort of intentionally finding her may work a bit better - like he gets sent to find her at work....i think this would be funny as hell cause mattie would walk in and be like "how do you not feel like depressed or anxious you are in the ER wtf" and he could maybe go into this speech like "yo actually im a part of this cool group you should join and like also take your feelings back" lolol
