POWERS:
ANALGESIA: character possesses an inability to feel pain; may or may not be able to extend this effect to others
POWER MIMICRY: ability to copy another's powers when that power is used against youBought gift: PSIONIC BLAST - Charlotte isn't very good at controlling her gifts, and because she also has antisocial personality disorder, she lacks the ability to understand when she's doing something wrong. This led to her developing the psionic blast. Her behaviour can sometimes spike an overload in someone else's mind, almost energy vampire like when she just doesn't realise she's not portraying socially acceptable behaviour, which causes pain in the other person's mind. This psionic link is made when she's talking to someone, but throughout time, she will begin to be able to control it and use it to her advantage.
THE LOOKS
HEIGHT: 5'8
WEIGHT: 132lbs
HAIR COLOR: dark brown, but she bleaches it a white-ish blonde
EYE COLOR: brown
FACE CLAIM: Emmanuelle Proulx
OVERALL APPEARANCE: Charlotte looks as if she is stuck in the 80s/90s, although she is barely even old enough to be considered a child of those decades. During the 90s, her mother would dress her in the style of the decade, and this had a lasting effect on her fashion choices.
Apart from her grungy look, her most distinguishing feature is her white-ish blonde hair. It makes her stand out in a crowd and makes her easily recognizable. Most of the time, her hair is divided into two low braids.

STRENGTHS: very intelligent, quick-witted
WEAKNESSES: addictive personality, easily distracted, no real sense of right and wrong
OVERALL PERSONALITY: Overall, Charlotte is a pleasant person to be around. Over the years she has learnt how to mask her APD, and if you aren't aware of her diagnosis, you won't notice her odd behaviour at first. If you get to know her better, you will start to notice some weird things here and there. She tends to be rude or (mentally) hurt people without meaning to because she simply doesn't know any better.
Because the APD diagnosis isn't completely accurate due to her gifts, she doesn't behave exactly like a normal people diagnosed with APD would. She is able to feel things, and can fall in love or care about someone.

It takes some time to get to know her, and it takes even longer to understand her, but Charlotte is a fun young woman. She likes playing/listening to music with friends and hitting the town. She also enjoys going for walks with Jack.
She tends to quickly judge people. She trusts her gut, and if it tells her something is off, she will listen to it. This can cause her to feel like someone has bad intentions with her, and sometimes this really isn't even the case.

HISTORY: (CW: drug abuse)
Charlotte was born two years after her brother Alexander. Her parents were both caring and loving people who made sure that their kids didn't lack anything. After Charlotte's birth, her mother Amanda quit her job as a nurse to stay home with her two young children, while her father continued to work as a car salesman. They weren't rich, but they weren't exactly poor either. They were just doing okay in West Hook.
As the siblings grew up, Amanda returned to her job. Often times the children would stay at their neighbour Miss Dorian's house until their parents came home from work. The two of them were both bright children, but over the course of the next years, it would become clear that Charlotte wasn't exactly functioning like a normal girl.
Charlotte started displaying concerning behaviour. A doctor officially diagnosed her with antisocial personality disorder at the age of eighteen, but other doctors had voiced their suspicions of this disorder earlier as well. They simply hadn't been allowed to diagnose her before she was eighteen. The doctor stated that Charlotte lacked empathy, an understanding of the social norm, a disregard for personal safety and a tendency to lie without realising why it's considered wrong.
Nobody suspected a gift. Both her parents, and her brother, weren't gifted, and the general knowledge on the gifted wasn't accessible to just anyone. To this day, George, Amanda and Alexander still don't know that Charlotte is gifted. But Charlotte knew when the doctor diagnosed her, that the diagnosis wasn't complete. At that time, she didn't know she was gifted yet. In her case, her analgesia extended to her inside. Apart from not being able to feel physical pain, the part of her brain that was responsible for controlling her emotions and impulses was also 'sedated'.

At the age of nineteen, Charlotte went to college, hoping to get a degree in art history. Nobody doubted her ability to do so, but they had stupidly forgotten about her diagnosis and its effects. It took less than a semester for Charlotte to become distracted by the wrong kind of friends. The whole party culture of college was too appealing to her, and soon she would start getting in trouble for being high in class or causing trouble in local bars. Here, the complexity of her addictive personality started to show. She became addicted to cocaine and experimented with many other drugs. During these years she met Ellis Bridges .
It was also during this time that she met people who told her about gifted, and that she discovered she was one of those. She didn't share this knowledge with others.
Eventually, after failing a lot of classes and angering her parents, she had to drop out. So now she was a twenty-four year old addict with no degree and no prospects of a good future. Her parents were fed up with her. They had known about her addiction for a few years now, and were tired of trying to get her to go to rehab. With a heavy heart they decided to go no contact with her. Her brother, Alex, didn't join them in their decision, but their parents are understanding of this. He offered her a place to stay, at his house where he lived with his wife Jane and their son Craig.
But West Hook was no place for a recovering addict, so right after her twenty-fifth birthday, Charlotte moved to The Heights, where she now rents a very small house, together with a roommate that's barely ever home (this vibe). Around this time she also adopted Jack, hoping a dog would help her maintain a healthy routine.
