Honey turns into a sizeable wolf. In this form, she inherits the enhanced senses of a canine and has dichromatic vision; she sees the world predominantly in blue and yellow colours.
The biggest problem is, when she shifts it's completely at random. She has no control over when or where it happens. If there is a trigger, she hasn't identified it yet. She can change back at her own leisure (even returning to human form almost instantly, if she wishes) but the fact remains that she spontaneously bursts into wolf form sometimes and therefore the Sector has declared her unable to live in regular society.

OVERALL APPEARANCE: Honey has a rounded, impish face, with a button nose, large brown eyes, and a dimpled grin. Her fair skin is smattered in freckles and her long blonde hair is mostly straight with only a slight wave to it.
Honey has a multitude of small tattoos - she's lost count of how many there are. Most of them aren't particularly serious or meaningful, sort of like she gave someone a bunch of coloured pens and asked them to doodle all over her. Stars and hearts under her collarbones, more hearts on her left wrist, and flowers around her right ankle. A bouquet on her left upper arm and some more flowers and scribbles on the right. Then there's even more flowers randomly dotted on her torso and thighs.
Her more "purposeful" tattoos include a frog in a bubble on her right wrist, a more realistic frog on her left foot, and a cat on her left forearm. On her left shoulder blade she has a dog in an astronaut helmet in honour of Laika the space dog, whose story she learned about via poetry which made her bawl her eyes out for several weeks.
In her wolf form, her coat mostly consists of silvers and creams, with darker grey and beige accents. Her eyes are molten gold.

Raised in near-isolation, Honey is very social and deeply values her loved ones (a.k.a. anyone who has stepped foot under her roof). She can sometimes be a bit airheaded, misreading situations or making unusual choices that were bound to go badly from the start, but she always bounces back with a goofy grin and her optimism still in place. Her intentions are generally good.
Honey is spirited and determined young woman, always willing to step outside her comfort zone and take on the unknown for the sake of experience. She takes great enjoyment in virtually everything life has to offer and has no qualms expressing it.
Being so sunny and cheerful all the time, you might expect her to be a bit of a people pleaser or pushover, happy to go along with whatever others say or suggest. But she's not spineless and can be incredibly stubborn in certain contexts - usually if her young 'wards' are fighting among themselves, being self-critical, or a danger to themselves/others.
Some may decide her eternal enthusiasm makes hanging out with her feel like babysitting; she can be draining company to keep for those who are have a more laid-back approach to life. However, if she were to be given something to occupy her, they could possibly find her company a lot more tolerable. She'll quieten down quickly to focus on the task and can get lost in it for hours if left undisturbed. This unexpectedly strong attention span has led her to develop a number of different skills, and shown she has an aptitude for a number of different hobbies and crafts. Her favourite is currently pottery, though she has also been known to paint, knit, sew, glass blow, and make jewellery.

HISTORY:
Honey's parents, though human, both worked for the Sector when their daughter was born. So when their toddler spontaneously burst into a wolf while playing in a sandpit, they were surprised, but not as disastrously unprepared as human parents with no knowledge of Gifted would have been.
Over the years it became increasingly clear that Honey could not learn to control her gift, despite all attempts via training programmes and 'gift intervention' the Sector offered. Going to public school was a pipe dream. Appearing in public was soon declared too risky as well. And thus Honey was moved out to a residence on the outskirts of Los Eurosia's National Park, where she was home-schooled (and basically raised) by the Gifted Transition Officer who lived there. Honey's parents and brother stayed in the city, though they visited at weekends.
Other Gifted kids flit in and out of Honey's home, moving on once they had gained enough control of their gifts to return to society or once they simply grew old enough to live somewhere else on their own. One of these kids was a girl Honey's age named Sienna, and they hit it off right away.
One night, the two teenagers snuck out to go on an adventure – a private camping trip where no annoying younger kids could bother them – not knowing about the snowstorm that was forecasted to blow in that next evening. They travelled far from the trail, became lost in the blizzard, and their flimsy tent did little to protect them.
Sienna froze to death. Honey... was eventually too hungry to ignore a wolf's survival instincts.
Eventually she was found and returned to her home. Her family visited less and less as time went on, and now she hasn't seen them for over a year. They'll come back eventually, though. She's sure of it...
