Ryan couldn’t say why, exactly, the building had caught his eye in the first place.[break][break]
Actually, that was a lie. It caught his eye because he’d been in every other building on the street except for that one, and he was only now realising it was because it didn’t have a door.[break][break]
Not that doors were essential for exploring. Not in his current form – whiskered and ten inches tall at the shoulder, tail upright and waving languidly behind him as he circled this distraction from his usual morning routine. Yet even the windows appeared to be closed, with no grates or holes in the brickwork he could attempt to slither through either.[break][break]
It didn't seem to be attached to any other place; he could walk completely around the whole thing without interruption. Nothing about it screamed ‘run-down’ or ‘abandoned’ with its unmarked walls and intact windows, and the alleys on three of its sides were fairly standard, with the fourth side situated on a popular Downtown street.[break][break]
But the fact remained: the building didn’t have a door.[break][break]
Strange…[break][break]
Maybe it was a matter of perspective?[break][break]
Glancing both ways to check there were no witnesses (and slipping under an overhang in case anyone was looking down from above), he shifted. Where there had once been a cat, there was now a fairly average man in fairly average work attire – trousers and dress shoes, a brown sweater vest over a white shirt – with blond curls glinting in the sunshine as he straightened from a crouch.[break][break]
He circled the building once. Twice. A third time. Then stopped in front of it on the sidewalk and stepped back, squinting upwards. Most of windows simply reflected the surroundings and sky, whereas the others seemed to have blinds drawn behind them to stop him from peeking in. He couldn’t see any logos or insignia to suggest it was owned by a company…[break][break]
He was stumped. Perplexed, even. He wasn’t particularly offended or alarmed by this observation. Just… how did anyone get in? Did they get in? For what purpose? It felt like, as a Sector agent, it might be his duty to find out.[break][break]
OOC: do whatever! Some ideas are:[break]
1) Your character sees him staring up at this building and asks what’s up, and they investigate together[break]
2) Your character already knows what’s up, and tries to steer him away from the building (maybe it’s related to your character’s criminal shenanigans??)[break]
3) Your character steers him away to do something completely different because the building simply is not of interest to them (and why would it be? lmao)[break]
4) Your character walks past and Ryan gets distracted by them for some reason (maybe they have food that smells good?) and decides to follow (not creepy if he’s a cat!)
