WELCOME TO LOS EUROSIA,
Reina Catherine Krause
"Glass is more flexible than you think."
BASICS
NAME: Reina Catherine Krause
AGE: 29
BIRTHDATE: 6/9/1993
PRONOUNS: She/Her
SEXUALITY: Pansexual
RELATIONSHIP STATUS: Single
OCCUPATION: Glassmaker/Business owner
NEIGHBORHOOD: East End
MEMBER GROUP: Gifted
POWERS: Geokinesis-Glass Manipulation/Elemental TransmutationReina’s power involves the manipulation and copying the properties of naturally occurring glasses.
Her primary power is manipulating these natural glasses, which include silica dioxide (better known as quartz), obsidian, tektites, Libyan desert glass, fulgurites, moldovite, trinitite, balsaltic glass, and siliceous skeletons. Through touch or short-ranged psionic means, Reina can bend the glass to her will, literally and figuratively, causing the glass to alter in density from the hardest it can be to a liquid state without requiring heat, alter its shape, and break apart or mend glasses together. With a thought she can cause glass to hover in place, giving a sort of simulated telekinesis that enables her to work with and direct the glass with will alone. Not only can she manipulate glass, she can sense the presence of it within her vicinity, including materials with glass-like qualities such as amorphous metals and man-made glass. Her control is fine tuned to the point she can shape and alter the glass with a single thought and a few gestures, capable of making the glass work as offensive and defensive as much as she can with just creating things with it as well as being able to sense the faintest grain of the material.
However, Reina’s powers have a secondary use. In recent years, Reina has discovered she can take on an organic, flexible glass form that takes on the property of glass that she is copying, as well as allowing her limited control of its shape. Each form grants her some level of enhanced strength and durability, heat resistance (or how much she can handle thermal shock), and self-sustenance (not requiring to eat, drink, or breathe) for up to three days.
*Quartz: Reina's hardest yet heaviest form that grants her greater bouts of strength and durability, as well as requiring tremendous stress to do damage with. Thus, she does have a fair resistance to extreme temperatures, though is her hardest to manipulate the shape of. She takes on an uneven but crystal-clear crystalline appearance in this form.
*Obsidian: This form is one of Reina's stronger, harder forms that is more heat resistant yet easier to manipulate its shape. The coloration can vary from a glossy, translucent black to a metallic sheen depending on the type of obsidian she copies.
*Tektite: A brownish-green glass form that is Reina's second strongest glass form, and has a rough texture. Like her Quartz form, is more resilient to extreme weather and gives her greater strength and durability. Like her quartz form, is harder to manipulate its shape.
*Desert glass: A zircon/Reidite based glass that is a canary-yellow and opaque. This form is unique in that it is strong and sturdy like her tektite and quartz forms, yet can withstand more punishment in being able to bend and flex. Requires a fair bit of pressure and heat to cause true damage, and is one of the easier glasses to manipulate.
*Fulgurite: Reina's lightest form, made from a roughly textured, hollowed glass form that has a branched like growths. Though more fragile, this form has limited conductivity of electricity and one of the most easiest to manipulate in terms of shape and density to a degree.
*Moldavite: A translucent, missy green glass originating from meteor impacts on Earth, as well as one of the harder glasses. Reina takes takes on a mossy green glass shape that is also rough in texture increasing her strength and durability. She also has limited radiation protection.
*Trinitite: A quadicrystal glass still made of natural elements due to the Trinity Nuclear Bomb test, a smooth on the top and rough on the bottom glass. This is one of Reina’s more fragile glass forms yet also another of her easiest to manipulate due to the many pore-like holes in the material.
*Balsaltic Glass-Pele's Hair: A thin, thread like glass that occurs in the same manner as obsidian, but most often from lava flows. The color is a distinct yellow to gold with a slight sheen to it, her form resembling an assortment of thread- or hair-like structure that is the most versatile of her forms yet the weakest. She is capable of controlling the strands to act as tendrils, allowing her to elongate, split apart, whip, or snag individuals as well as alter her shape and flexibility more easily.
*Siliceous Skeleton: A most unusual skeletal structure of sponge types of protein-rich spicules with axial filaments containing high concentrations of silica. This particular form is considered a biological glass, porous and not nearly as hard or stiff as normal glass but more flexible to manipulate based on the hydration of Reina’s body. Her form resembles a ivory white porous skeletal structure that is incredibly resistant to high pressures and exceptionally more flexible than her other forms, aside from the Pete’s hair.

OVERALL PERSONALITY: Reina is what one could say full of spunk and sass. She is as much of being coy and impish in nature as she is likely to be vocal and speak her thoughts without hesitation. She has no qualms in speaking her mind and tends to have a rather coy, playful attitude that comes off as both humorous and causing mischief. She likes a little chaos and mayhem, just to make things interesting, and often has an equally coy, impish grin to express her personality most of all. For all her sass also comes brutal honesty, never sugar coating anything and rarely sparing the harsh truths.
If anything, Reina is best described as a morally ambiguous individual. There are times she can actually be quite helpful and kind towards others, though she most often has a soft spot of the broken, the lost, and the alone above anything. Occasionally, this shows a kinder, sweeter side that is only shown to those that can get past her guarded side. On the opposite, she can be quite guarded and stand offish towards others, sometimes coming off as aloof and cold, almost uncaring when she is in a sour mood. So. A temper is not uncommon to see with her when on a bad day. But some of this stems from her own insecurities and problems with attachments.
Nevertheless, what her walls are broken down, Reina shows herself to be loyal and extremely protective. She knows what loss has been and having lack of trust, so when she does find the few she can call friend she goes out of her way to help them.

HISTORY:
Reina’s life started out as a rough one. She lost her biological parents both early on in her life, early enough she doesn’t even remember them in the slightest. Her biological mother passed from complications during birth, leaving her initially with a doting father who did his best to raise his daughter on his own. Unfortunately, tragedy would strike when she was three where her father discovered he had a terminal illness, one that would give him merely months to live. In an effort to help his daughter, he reluctantly gave her up to an orphanage in Würzburg, Germany where they lived.
Unfortunately, his hopes did not quite come to fruition for sometime. A few weeks after arriving to the orphanage, she was adopted by a loving young couple who had three children of their own already and whom she was close to for the two years she lived with the family. But, things changed when Reina discovered her gift at a young age. When playing about in their small backyard during a party, young Reina had merely picked up a glass when all the party goers sat down to eat lunch and subconsciously warped the glass. Shocking both herself and those around, there was silence until her adoptive parents tried to play it off as too much heat. But from that day on, the curious girl began trying with other glasses, finding she could warp and alter the glass when no heat was present. Though this discovery unsettled her parents a great deal, finding it uncomfortable she was “different” and soon returned her to the orphanage she had been before. This abandonment tore at Reina, and it would be another three years before she was adopted by another couple. Once again however, things did not go as hoped.
The family was a religious sort, and as much as Reina attempted to hide her gift, she found herself unable to resist using it often. Something her family discovered a few months later much to their horror. Calling her a “devil child” when discovered attempting to mend glass together, the family did everything in their power to “save” their beloved adopted daughter. From exorcisms to beatings to trying to use blessings, Reina went through two years of her own personal hell until she reached her own limits and ran away during church one evening. Slipping away while the family was busy, she left the church and traveled home to snag a bag she had prepared, taking to living on the streets as opposed to dealing with a what she calls her nut job failure of a second family. And experience that further cemented she was better off on her own and looking out for those who are gifted like herself. So, to the streets she lived for six years, learning to do slights of hand, thievery, and navigating the streets, occasionally selling street art from glass shards she melded together.
An older couple however took notice of her unique work, watching from afar for a few weeks to see what sort of technique she used. They became intrigued however when they realized she was using thought and her hands, not heat or the like. Approaching the guarded teen, the couple offered her a job, figuring they could help her get on her feet. Though hesitant, Reina took up the offer and soon began to find working at a glassmaking little business not only helped her find peace of mind but refine her abilities, as well as being officially adopted by the Krauses a year later. Though it had taken time, Reina felt she had found her niche, deciding to stick around for sometime to help the couple and building her own life as well as discovering things she never knew she could do, including copying the properties of certain glasses and finding those she could not bend to her will.
Eventually though, when she reached about 22 years of age, Reina sought to spread her wings and open her own business. So, she moved to the states with the blessings of her parents and eventually settled in Los Eurosia, after a two year stint in Seattle to build up her finances a bit more. With a little time and effort, Reina came to settle in the quaint town that seemed to have its own sort of atmosphere, opening her own small glassmaking shop in downtown, Glassy Wonders.
