Noah has a traditional style, two-story, three bedroom home on a quiet street in West Hook. He pays someone to maintain his garden and mow the lawn but he is rarely seen inviting anyone inside. [break][break]

The house has white trimmings, charcoal roof tiles, and a mixture of dove-grey and charcoal sliding. There are no fences to separate his land from the forest it backs onto, and there's a small patio area at the back with a table and a few chairs.[break][break]

- - FIRST FLOOR[break][break]
Noah's interior design choices are much like his fashion ones; there's lots of dark shades, navy, and greys. The entire first floor has oak floorboards and walls painted deep slate blue. However, the natural lighting tends to be very good during the day so the dark colour scheme is not oppressive. He keeps most of his home relatively tidy. [break][break]

The Lounge: Two tan couches with an assortment of blue-toned decorative pillows. There's a low coffee table in the middle of them, a fireplace on the closest wall, and a large TV on a console table in the corner of the room. A large circular mirror hangs above the fireplace, flanked by bookshelves on either side. Sliding doors behind one of the couches lead out to the garden.[break][break]

The Dining Area: In front of a window which overlooks the back garden, there’s a round wooden table with four dark blue dining chairs.[break][break]

The Kitchen: Navy cabinets with white marble tops. There's a kitchen island with a couple of high barstools to sit on.[break][break]

The Study

The Study: If he can’t find a place for something elsewhere in his home, it’s likely to end up in the study. It’s the messiest room in Noah’s house, a great place to sit back, relax, and watch surgery videos or woodcarving tutorials on his laptop. This is also where he carves his smaller whittling projects if it’s raining outside, so there’s a roll of carving knives in the bottom drawer of his desk and usually a tonne of wood shavings in the bin.[break][break]

There's a couple of windows and a window seat, but otherwise all four walls are covered in shelving cabinets. They hold books (mostly psychology and criminology related, including all editions of the DSM and all 140 volumes of American Jurisprudence), his university degree, and an assortment of random knickknacks that have fallen into his possession over the years. There’s a desk with an office chair, and a grey armchair in the corner.[break][break]

The Garage: Home to his cars. Well-lit and spacious. On the back wall there's a tool rack, a woodworking bench, and shelves full of gardening supplies and cleaning products; it's clear he bought them in bulk. There's also a couple of unopened cans of slate blue paint and brushes/rollers.[break][break][break]


- - SECOND FLOOR[break][break]

Every room except the bathrooms, laundry room, and bonus room are covered in pearl coloured (somewhere between cream and silver) carpet.[break][break]

Noah’s Bedroom | Walk-in Closet | Master Bathroom

Noah’s bedroom: Charcoal grey walls match the bedsheets and the plush, high-pile rug that sticks out from under the queen size bed. There are two floor to ceiling windows on one wall that overlook his patio/backyard and the forest beyond. The natural lighting is good during the day but his room quickly becomes the darkest in the house when the sun starts to set. It's pitch black at night when the lights are turned off. [break][break]

On the wall opposite the windows is a full-length mirror and a dresser. Above the dresser is a wall shelf with a few of his favourite books and a small blue bowl that he sometimes empties his pockets into (loose change, a lighter, maybe a receipt and sometimes his keys, etcetera). There's a nightstand and accompanying lamp on either side of the bed, an armchair next to the closest window, and he has a few houseplants that are doing surprisingly well. Three smaller ones reside on the shelf behind his bed, while a couple of large ones sit on the floor in opposite corners of the room (one next to the door to his en suite, the other next to his dresser). There's also a tiny unfinished painting by Tawny on the shelf behind his bed, depicting a dark, misty forest.[break][break]

Walk-in closet: Noah does not need a walk-in closet. Does he have enough clothes to fill it? No. His stuff barely fills half of it. Does he care enough about fashion to take pride in displaying his? No. It’s just there. Dark wooden shelves with a floor-length mirror on one wall.[break][break]

Ensuite/Master bathroom: The light grey and white tiles and the skylight above the shower makes this room feel pretty bright in comparison to the darkness of Noah’s room. All the products he uses tends to have a woodsy and/or citrus scent. His towels are dark grey, whereas the towels he keeps spare for guests are white.[break][break]

Bedroom 2: A bit unfinished, he hasn't even completed painting one of the walls. More like Noah’s second bedroom than a guest room. It tends to store things he can’t shove into his study and sometimes, after stumbling home drunk, he’ll make a wrong turn and fall into this bed instead. Along with a double bed and a closet, this room contains a coffee table, stool, and small ladder Noah carved himself (the table and stool are pretty good if you’re into the rough-hewn look, but do NOT trust the ladder to hold the weight of a grown person). He also keeps some weights in there.[break][break]

Bedroom 3: The room Noah would nudge guests into if they absolutely had to stay at his house for whatever reason; it’s further from his own room and closer to the main bathroom (which is blindingly white and feels very sterile). It’s almost like a hotel, perhaps uncomfortably neat and tidy, and it’s also one of the lighter rooms with its white walls instead of navy or grey.[break][break]

Bonus room: The bonus room above the garage is probably the most glaring example that Noah has more space than he needs because… there’s nothing in it. Nothing. He doesn’t know what to do with it so he just pretends it doesn’t exist.[break][break][break]


- - NEIGHBOURS[break][break]

Noah keeps interaction with his neighbours to a minimum, and thankfully they don't seem too interested in him either. There are long stretches of road between each house on his street so he rarely sees them – let alone gets close enough to speak to them. [break][break]

• The Kingsfords – Family of three; Mr and Mrs Kingsford with their fourteen year-old daughter Sammy. (Mr Kingsford is Ted Lasso in all but surname. It's canon). [break][break]

Keys: A standard set of keys; no interesting keyrings to make it more colourful. Holds his house keys (front, back, and garage doors), a remote fob key to his garage, and car keys to his Honda. He keeps the keys to his Spyder separate, leaving them at home if he's not driving it that day.[break][break]

Wallet: A plain black leather wallet, holding an array of cards: driving license, credit, debit, Costco membership, local library membership, gym membership, insurance, etcetera. He’s normally carrying $ 40 in $ 10 bills and $ 2 in loose change. [break][break][break]


-- WOODWORK[break][break]

Noah originally bought an axe with intentions of chopping wood for his fireplace - and he does still do that sometimes. But one day when he was particularly bored he had a go at axe-throwing, and once he lost interest in that and hacked a few felled logs to bits, he finally wondered if he could do anything else with the wood.[break][break]

He began with larger projects such as the bench/table, stool, and ladder that now reside in one of his bedrooms. Nowadays he also carves smaller items, such as a bunch of wooden kitchen utensils (that he never actually uses) and little animals and trinkets that are decidedly more decorative than useful. [break][break]

Honestly he ends up burning a lot of his works not long after he's finished with them. But small incomplete projects (and a few surviving carvings that haven't reached the fireplace yet) can either be found on his woodworking bench in the garage or on his desk in the study. He keeps his smaller carving knives in his study as well.[break][break]

-- BOOKS[break][break]

Noah owns shelves upon shelves of books. While his study holds mostly non-fiction (weighty tomes on psychology, law, criminology, one or two cookbooks, and a couple of medical journals/anatomy guides), he owns a substantial amount of fiction as well. He tends to prefer 'older' books. Classics. Books in the realism, fantasy, and sci-fi genres are most common. His favourite authors are Haruki Murakami, Fyodor Dostoevsky, and Franz Kafka, and their books tend to be the most visibly read - showing signs of use with one or two having cracked spines. He's not someone who dog-ears his pages or writes in or highlights passages, though. He does his best to take care of them. Quotes from books he owns can be found here.[break][break][break]


-- NOAH'S FAVOURITE KNIFE[break][break]

Noah loves a good ol’ fistfight but he’s not above whipping out some backup if he thinks he’s losing. His gun is usually left at home, only taken out if he feels an assignment could really go south, and he has a tonne of knives – some specifically for whittling, most generally just 'pretty' switchblades and hunting knifes, a collection that's a little disconcerting in its size and "hidden" under his bed. Only his favourite switchblade tends to always be on his person, either in a trouser pocket or tucked in the back of his shoe. [break][break]

The knife is almost entirely black except for the sharp, silver edge which is serrated near the handle. He chose matte black specifically to make it harder to see in the dark; a shiny silver blade is a lot easier to spot. The blade folds neatly into the handle, keeping it compact and preventing Noah from accidentally stabbing himself.[break][break]

Noah has a couple of handguns; one unregistered Glock and one legally owned Beretta. The Beretta's existence is commonly forgotten and has only ever been used for practice at shooting ranges, whereas the Glock is the one he takes with him when he expects something shady is going to happen. He keeps the Beretta in a safe in his closet. The Glock is hidden under a floorboard under the desk in his study. [break][break][break]

Eve lives Downtown, in a one bedroom apartment above her store: Moondweller’s Cauldron. It’s a bit cramped (two people will struggle to navigate the kitchen at the same time) and her tendency to collect random items doesn’t help, but she thinks it's cosy.[break][break]

The entrance to her apartment block is around the back of the store. There's a small foyer/mailroom and some stairs that leads up to a little corridor where there's only three doors – one of which leads into Eve's home.[break][break]

There are no clear surfaces; every table, shelf, and counter has some sort of witchy knickknack or plant or abandoned teacup on top of it. She has a ridiculous amount of candles and fairy lights and more books than she needs, and she is drawn to warm colours – mostly red – and patterned tapestries and cloths.[break][break]

There's also five black cats hanging around, so make sure the pillow on your seat isn't actually a napping feline friend before you sit down.[break][break]

- - NEIGHBOURS[break][break]

• Mr and Mrs Fletching – 70 and 73, nice people except they think Eve is the devil. They’ve made so many unfounded complaints against Eve that her landlady now puts letters from them directly into the shredder. [break][break]

• Daisy-Leigh and Michelle – 19, a couple of university students who work part-time in Moondweller’s Cauldron. They are entrusted with the store and feeding Eve’s cats whenever she goes home to visit her parents.

The store is a lot neater than her apartment. All items are arranged carefully and prices are easily identifiable on the displays. There's a coffee table, two armchairs, and a small sofa near the till at the back of the store, where customers are welcome to sit for as long as the store is open. Sooty: Long black fur, yellow eyes – Always calm and unbothered by whatever is happening around her. Often buried in piles of blankets or curled up in Eve’s bed. Eve's baby (she has thousands of pictures of Sooty on her phone but refuses to admit she has a favourite).[break][break]

Mischief: Black fur, amber eyes, doesn’t have a tail – The menace, aptly named for his penchant for trouble. No time for cuddles, only zoomies. Voted most likely to sprint around the apartment at 3am and jump on Eve’s face when she’s trying to sleep. Will probably knock over a candle and set the whole building on fire one day.[break][break]

Cleo: Black fur, green eyes – The eldest, a very sweet lap-cat with zero fear of strangers. This purring machine will try to nap on houseguests as soon as they sit down. Has no loyalty and is always most interested in the least familiar person in the room.[break][break]

Birdie: Short black fur, yellow eyes, small – Stares judgingly. Will sit on someone’s lap but then swipe and hiss at any hands that try to pat him; he likes to do things on his own terms.[break][break]

Pop-Tart: Black fur, green eyes, notably round face – Talkative, yells for attention a lot but is skittish around strangers. Named because she tends to jump in the air when she’s startled, like a Pop-Tart popping out from a toaster. Her trust can be earned, but more slowly than the others.

Keys: Eve’s set of keys is a bit of a mess. There’s potentially too much on it. Seven keys: to her apartment, to her mailbox, to her store, to the cabinet in her store that holds the more expensive crystals, a spare to Michelle and Daisy-Leigh’s apartment, one to her parent’s home, and another to their store back in Virginia. As for decorative keyrings, she has a red fluffy pom-pom (to make the whole thing easier to find in whatever bag she's using), an enamel of Ying-Yang hugging cats, another enamel black cat with ‘Good Luck’ on its chest and a gold ball of yarn, and a white, blue, and gold woven keychain Sunny made for her when she was twelve. She also has some semi-precious stone keyrings (amethyst, aquamarine, aventurine, labradorite, and turquoise).[break][break]

Purse: A black Radley purse (a past birthday gift) with a cat and a couple of mushrooms on it, holding an array of cards: credit, debit, local library membership, insurance, a few loyalty cards to fashion retailers, and a few Moondweller's Cauldron business cards. Eve has several different decks, but nowadays her favourite is the Ethereal Visions Illuminated Tarot Deck illustrated by Matt Hughes. It was gifted to her by her dad as a moving gift. The cards are gold foiled and coloured in pretty pastels.[break][break]

Eve has a huge collection of dream journals. Seriously. She's been jotting down her dreams almost all her life so there's hundreds. Most of them are at home with her parents but she has about twenty (in an array of different colours) with her in Los Eurosia. She has an obvious preference for linen hardbacks with pretty foil designs on the cover. [break][break]

Currently, she's using a warm beige journal decorated with celestial designs in rose gold foil on the cover and spine. It's kept on her nightstand so she can easily flick a lamp on and jot down any dreams she wakes from in the middle of the night. The pages are also edged in rose gold.[break][break]

Honey lives in what is probably best described as a 'fairytale cottage'. It looks kinda small from the front, but it's actually big enough for four bedrooms as well as a living room, kitchen, dining room, and facilities.[break][break]

Tucked away in Los Eurosia's National Forest, it is only reachable by a dirt road followed by a 10 minute walk through the woods. A cobblestone path takes you through the final stretch to the front door, and the house itself has roses and other foliage growing up its walls.[break][break]

The cottage has a very natural feel, with its wooden beams, floral prints, and genuine oak furniture. The colour scheme mostly consists of creams, sage greens, yellows, and light browns. Temporary residents are of course allowed to decorate their bedroom however they want, but once they leave Honey tends to revert it back to 'normal'.[break][break]
