ABOUT

Katie is a 29 year old female gifted. She is currently unaware of the nature of her abilities (her gift is clairvoyance and consists of visions of events she was not present for), and she believes she has depressive type schizoaffective disorder. Katie was committed to a psychiatric ward, around nineteen. Through a series of somewhat morally gray events she was released from the ward. She encountered her time-traveling younger (older?) brother James Clark , and now lives with him Downtown. She isn't really aware he's her brother though...

PLATONIC

Katie has difficulty talking with other adults, and can seem childish and unsure. She is better with young children. However, she is more than eager to make friends, especially ones who don’t look too closely at where she’s been. She is a bit of a fool when it comes to telling the intentions of another person, and is often too wrapped up in her own thoughts to consider ulterior motives. Katie is very self-conscious about her condition and sees telling others as a life and death situation. She is determined to make good impressions and seem put together in front of others (whether she succeeds or not is the question). Katie is, at her core, a good person. She tries to do the right thing and make other people’s lives better. She constantly doubts herself about this and seeks confirmation. She looks for attention, but doesn’t usually like what she gets.

ANTAGONISTIC

Katie avoids confrontation as much as possible. She opts to ignore problems over dealing with them. She becomes extremely uncomfortable when other people notice the mess her life became. When this happens, whether the person is trying to help or not, Katie tries to avoid conversation or anything to further their information. However, if she’s stuck with no way to avoid it, Katie lashes out. It’s like a final line of defense before she could be vulnerable. Katie often regrets these things, but in the moment she becomes desperate. She also forms strong opinions and convictions that are not easily swayed. Once she draws a conclusion on something she isn’t likely to give up. If someone challenges Katie on something she is very sure about, whether they are right or wrong, she will refuse to hear them out. Only if she is forced into that kind of confrontation will she even listen.

ROMANTIC

Katie had crushes when she was younger, sure, but she doesn’t really seriously think about romance.

PLOT HOOKS

– Katie is unemployed and walking the streets of Los Eurosia looking for a job. Maybe your character is hiring or looking for a roommate. Either way, Katie would happily get some stability… semi-illegal or not.

– Katie has a clairvoyance gift that gives her visions of other people. Maybe Katie has a vision of your character and promptly finds them on the street. Katie would definitely not follow them. Okay, that’s a lie. She would totally stalk them poorly and be unable to explain why.

– With the way her clairvoyance works, Katie occasionally collapses to the ground in a fit. Maybe your character comes across Katie screaming and writhing on the ground.

– Katie has, albeit somewhat limited, medical knowledge! Is your character bleeding out on the street for some mysterious reason? Katie really couldn't just leave... 

– As a gifted, Katie could draw unwanted attention. Who knows, maybe someone has been doing their research…

– Katie is a great person to trauma dump on! Maybe your character got really drunk one night and stumbles into Katie, accidentally revealing some information in the process.

Charlotte could use a roommate! She lives in The Heights and is a pretty broke college dropout who lives with her dog but the rent of her little home is a bit expensive for just her

I could have Charlotte post on social media somewhere that she's looking for a roommate and the two could meet up to discuss it?

Hello! So I was looking at your plot hooks and thought I might offer up a couple of characters that could fit them :3

I think it could be interesting if Katie Graushuper had a vision of Evening Cadieux and then saw her irl and decided to follow her. It would really freak out Eve who has had a bit of a close call with a murderer lately, so maybe she’d get tearful and panicked and spin around to confront the ‘stalker’ and Katie would then try to explain herself lol. But because Eve has telepathy and precognition she would realise what was going on and calm down, then maybe try to convince Katie that she’s a witch and tell her she has visions too? Maybe Katie doesn’t believe her and decides to run off there and then. Maybe Katie doesn’t believe her but is kinda intrigued and decides to talk to Eve about it. Or maybe Katie does believe somewhat and Eve introduces her to the world of gifted a little bit? Whatever you think Katie would do!

I also think it would be interesting to see her and Noah St Cloud interact. Maybe he could witness a vision one day (from a distance) and feel there’s something supernatural about it, or maybe she has an ancestor that was gifted and he finds her by tracing their bloodline?

Either way, he could do a little investigating to see if Katie is gifted. They both like books, so maybe they could meet at a library where he purposefully reaches for the same non-fiction? OH – maybe a medical journal of some kind?? They both like to watch videos on first aid and medical procedures which I feel is so delightfully niche of them lol and I think it would be hilarious for them to bond over this interest while passersby are like ‘… are those two people getting all bright-eyed and yelling excitedly about an appendectomy??’ lmaoooo.

If they got onto deeper topics, Noah would be able to relate in regards to feeling neglected by his family etc. Plus Noah is pretty curious about Felix, who is also in Blackstorm, so he’d be weirdly interested in hearing about Katie’s meeting with him on the rooftop if that were somehow revealed. It would encourage Noah that he could be right about Katie being gifted (and recruitable), at least.

Hello! Thx for reaching out, I'd love to plot something with Katie! I am struggling to pick a character to thread with tho... they both sound so much fun. 

Evening Cadieux  being a mind reader would be really interesting, and Katie would definitely be awkward about the whole stalking thing. She'd also freak out a little when things get cleared up... she probably wouldn't believe Eve right away but that opens a nice door for when I'm ready for Katie to learn about the world of gifted. Plus, Katie could use an actual friend who isn't lying to her, XD. 

Noah St Cloud  being a part of Blackstorm and knowing Felix would be pretty fun too. Katie being oblivious to dangerous people is kinda becoming a pattern now, lol. I haven't had a chance to write Katie without overwhelming anxiety that much yet, so a casual meet up in a library talking about medical stuff would probably bring out a more relaxed side of her.
I dunno what Noah's plan would be, but if he does try to take her power that might result in some... confusion. After all, from Katie's perspective she would be witnessing someone else with schizophrenia! That could be a bonding point (albeit one that was very untruthful) and also open a way for Katie to mention Felix. Not sure how that would look exactly, tho.


Whichever thread you're more interested in, I'd like to get something going. I am a bit busy irl, and in a few threads already... so if we do start something right away, I can't promise how consistent my replies will be XD

I was wondering about how Noah’s and Katie’s powers would interact 👀 In the past I’d said he wouldn’t be able to borrow Eve’s precognitive gift if she has visions of him because it’s not seen as a direct threat to him – but I’ve also said that he could pick up ‘tracking’ a.k.a. a form of clairvoyance and things like Tawny’s memory viewing, so maybe he’d be able to borrow Katie’s power if she had a vision of him/saw through his eyes?? I think being able to borrow Katie’s gift would be the more interesting choice, as like you said it would give them something to bond over c: But it’s up to you!

Saying that, maybe we could start with Katie Graushuper & Eve? Then later if Noah experiences Katie’s gift and talks to her about it, maybe she’ll be like ‘hmm… similar to what the weird witch woman said’ lolol

And no worries at all about inconsistent replies! My response time varies wildly so I could be a day or months lmao, so I don’t mind if we start now or if you’d prefer to hold off until you’re less busy :3
