SASHA WOLFE
16 / HOMELESS / GIFTED / SINGLE / APPLICATION
- - ABOUT
Sasha is a teenage shapeshifter who became homeless at the age of 8, when they panicked as a dog and ended up trapped in a van bound for Los Eurosia. Unable to find their way home, they’ve lived as a stray ever since, rarely using their human form because they find it too weak to be useful. When in the city itself, they are usually a dog or cat, and have claimed a territory for themselves in the East End, which they defend fiercely from outside animals, unless those animals need help of some kind. In the wilderness their shape varies, though only ever to animals found in the area such as the grey fox, coyote or bobcat, as Sasha can only become what they have seen in person. Because they’ve spent the last eight years as an animal, they don’t have the greatest people skills.
- - PLATONIC
Sasha hasn’t made any real human friends in the last eight years, but has likely acted friendly to humans from time to time in order to get some easy food, or help for an injured or sick animal on their territory. They wouldn’t be the friendliest to begin with, having all the suspicious and nervous characteristics of a feral dog, but it is possible for someone to get closer to them.
- - ANTAGONISTIC
Being a very territorial shapeshifter, Sasha has likely made a few enemies, whether it be through directly attacking someone who came too close, or through attacking other animals in the area. Being a stray also means going through bins and causing messes, as well as being noisy during fighting over territory, which might be a nuisance to people. Sasha doesn’t like people who abuse animals for no cause (although they view dealing with a challenge through violence as justifiable), and is wary of those who try to catch them.
- - ROMANTIC
Sasha has more important things on their mind than romance right now, such as surviving each day. It’s unlikely they will develop any interests unless they get off of the streets somehow and learn to feel comfortable as a human again.

- - PLOT HOOKS
- When Sasha disappeared, they likely made it onto the news – a human child vanishing, never to be seen again, is likely to cause quite a stir. Someone seeing Sasha’s human form and learning their name may manage to make the connection.
- Someone could see Sasha as a stray and try to feed/help them, or view them as a nuisance/pest and try to call animal control. Keep in mind that when Sasha feels threatened, they often lose control of their animal instincts!
- As a Gifted who might have caused a few problems, Sasha could be hunted. He has also killed hunters that have pursued them in the past, which is something to keep in mind!
MATTHEW BROOKES
25 / PACK LEADER / BLACKSTORM / TAKEN / APPLICATION
- - ABOUT
Matthew is a shapeshifter with a paw in two worlds; while he lives in the forest with his partner, Elizabeth, and four children, he often ventures into the city to do jobs for Blackstorm, or just for a change of scenery, and occasionally brings his older children along too so that they can get used to acting like regular humans, rather than only as wild animals. He’s quiet and usually polite, so long as the person he is communicating with isn’t a threat to his family. In the wild, he’s almost always a black wolf, a form shared by his entire family; in the city, he’s usually in his human form, though he might take on a domestic dog or cat form to scavenge in difficult times.
- - PLATONIC
Matthew is generally quite polite towards people he doesn’t know, though he can be a little wary due to hi spending so long as a wolf, and being cautious of his family being attacked. Still, he’s helpful towards people and has been known to guide lost people to safety in the past, both in human and animal form, and he’s often quite happy to give talks on the importance of predators in the forest (especially wolves… but he is biased on that).
- - ANTAGONISTIC
Anyone who comes too close to Matthew’s densite might find themselves on the receiving end of hostilities, as he has two vulnerable children still nursing, as well as his slightly older children. Away from his den, however, he’s a lot more submissive and less likely to pick a fight, as he prefers not to start hostilities unless he has to. However as a member of Blackstorm he likely has made some enemies in the past, and of course the fact he and his family are almost always wolves is likely to cause issues at times… Matthew isn’t opposed to stealing and eating livestock or pets when desperate for food to feed his family.
- - ROMANTIC
Matthew will reject any and all romantic advances; his kind of shapeshifter mate for life, and Elizabeth is the only love for him, especially while they have young children to raise.

- - PLOT HOOKS
- Matthew could be recognized as a member of Blackstorm and attacked by hunter characters, or anyone who opposes Blackstorm. Keep in mind that his mate, Elizabeth, may join in the fight as an NPC if she hears the fight, especially if it’s close to the den.
- Anyone with an interest in wildlife/wolves (be it hunting or simply observing them) could find themselves getting too close to Matthew and his den.
- Matthew occasionally could give talks on the importance of wildlife at various locations. Although he dislikes being around humans, he’s always eager to find a way to protect his family, even if it means long speeches on the importance of wolves.
- Blackstorm members may need to track Matthew down at his den to give him his next job. They might face an angry wolf at first.
- If Matthew is trying to hunt for prey, interrupting him would anger him since he needs the food for his family. He could also end up venturing into the city in a less obvious form to scavenge for food if times are tough.
- Maybe your character is lost in the forest, and Matthew finds them. Either wolf, human or another creature, he could try to guide them to safety.
RORY THORNE
21 / UNEMPLOYED / HUNTER / SINGLE / APPLICATION
- - ABOUT
Rory is a shapeshifter who was born 'wild', but taken as a six year old by hunters and raised by one of them as a dog. He's much more relaxed as a dog than as a human, and is rarely seen apart from James, his handler, whose orders he follows without question - their bond is much like a police officer and police dog, with Rory playing the part of the dog. Although not the most confident person around, he's friendly enough to most, but when given a target he will pursue them endlessly, and only gives up when ordered to by James. He's usually a Rhodesian Ridgeback dog, but when fighting can shift with ease to other forms as needed.
- - PLATONIC
Although usually in dog form, and generally expects to be treated as such, Rory is always happy to make some friends and is quite mild-mannered so long as nobody does anything threatening or upsetting to him or his handler. He approaches people with a wagging tail and hopeful heart, but once trust is lost, it's difficult to regain. Making friends is easily something he'd like to do. When it comes to other Gifted, he's willing to make friends at first, but is reluctant to get too close in case they become his next target.
- - ANTAGONISTIC
Threatening him or his handler - moreso his handler than himself - is an easy way to make Rory into an enemy, and once he's decided (or been told) to attack, he's not one to give up. He fixates on wrongdoings and refuses to surrender to any opponent. Despite this, Rory actually doesn't enjoy fighting, and does so only because he thinks it's what is expected of him by those around him, due to him being a hunter. He likely won't attack Gifted unless ordered to do so or they attack him first.
- - ROMANTIC
At the present Rory has never really shown any romantic interest in somebody, mainly due to his constant fixation on being the best hunter and constantly proving himself useful.

- - PLOT HOOKS
- Your character is a target Rory has been ordered to deal with, one way or another. Perhaps he tries, but fails. Maybe he almost succeeds, but hesitates at a critical moment. Either way, he doesn't succeed.
- Another hunter becomes Rory's handler for the day for whatever reason. Perhaps they try to figure out why he's so nervous of them, or maybe they don't care?
